Funding Priorities
Purchases based on CASA requests are made throughout the fiscal year, on an as-needed basis that:

Impartial Review
The application review process is conducted by the Board of Directors in an impartial manner based upon an evaluation of each request. Therefore, solicitation of individual members of the Friends by potential recipients for specific requests is discouraged.
Purchases based on CASA requests are made throughout the fiscal year, on an as-needed basis that:
- Meet critical needs of children and families in dependencies
- Advance the outcome of permanence for dependent children
Suggested Areas of Support
- Emotional and psychological health
- Physical health
- Training and education
- Specialized equipment or devices
- Emergency housing
- Family reunification
- Camping or activities
Recipients
- Dependent children represented by CASAs from the King County Superior Court Dependency CASA Program
- No discrimination as to race, religion, sexual orientation, national origin or disability
Requests
- Must demonstrate specific and direct benefits to dependent children. General expenses are not funded.
- Requests must first be submitted to your CASA supervisor for approval. When approved by your CASA Supervisor, send the request to liason@friendsofcasakc.org and kathy.mccormack@kingcounty.gov. Please also cc your CASA Supervisor. Send with the subject line: CASA cas number xxxx for $xxx.
Limitations
- Funds are dispersed only upon receipt of an invoice from the service provider or, if funds are reimbursable to an individual, upon receipt of proof of payment.
- No other funding sources are available at the time of the request
- Please see DCYF concrete funds document as a possible source of funding.
- Awards shall be made as grants, not as loans.
